Effective July 12, 2026 · sparq.tools is in beta
sparq.tools ("sparq.tools", "the service", "we", "us") is a collection of browser-based tools for making and preparing SVG files for laser cutting and related crafts, operated by Jan. By using the service you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Files you upload are processed and returned, then discarded. We don't store your designs, and we don't sell or monetize your data. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Much of the processing happens right in your browser; where a file is sent to our servers, it exists only long enough to do the job and is not retained.
You own the SVG output you generate or modify with sparq.tools, and any physical items you make from it. No attribution to sparq.tools is required. You're always free to sell, gift, or give away the physical things you cut, engrave, or build, boxes, signs, ornaments, finished goods of any kind, as many as you like, anywhere. That never changes.
Whether you can also sell the digital file depends on how much of the design is yours versus ours. Three simple cases cover every tool:
When you bring your own artwork and sparq.tools just processes it, the design stays yours. This covers the modifiers and utilities: Centerline Trace, Color Remap, Resize, Find & Replace, Explode, Tabs & Bridges, Nesting, Tiler, Hardware Holes, and Fit Adjuster. You may sell both the products and the files, because we only helped you prepare art you already owned.
Welded words and similar decorative output (LetterForge) are built from freely-licensed fonts, so the letterforms are yours to use commercially. When a welded word is a component of your own original design, you may sell it in both products and files. What you may not do is resell a bare, plain welded word on its own as a standalone cut file, since at that point the file is essentially just our output.
The Box Maker, Stand Builder, Easel Builder, and Living Hinge do real engineering for you: kerf-compensated joints, tabs, and fits that actually assemble. Buying the tool grants you unlimited boxes and builds to make and sell, plain or decorated, forever.
You may not sell, license, share, or redistribute these generated files, at any level of decoration, or bundle them into a design pack, template set, or digital download. The tool grants you the right to build, not the right to redistribute the file. You also may not use the service's output to build or train a competing tool, generator, library, or marketplace.
In short: sell what you made. When the design is yours, the file is yours to sell too; when the value in the file is the engineering or generation sparq.tools did, sell the product you build from it, not the file. This keeps sparq.tools sustainable so it can stay free or affordable for everyone. If your situation isn't clearly covered, just ask.

You're responsible for the content you upload and for having the rights to it.
Some features may require an account. You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
sparq.tools is under active development. Tools may change, break, or be added and removed, and the service may be unavailable at times. It's currently free while in beta; we may introduce paid plans or usage limits in the future, and we'll give reasonable notice before charging for something you're already relying on.
Some tools are one-time purchases (you buy them once and keep access) and some are subscriptions (access continues while you're subscribed). Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Because our tools are digital and you can try them before you buy, one-time purchases are generally final once bought. That said, we want you happy with what you paid for: if a tool you purchased does not work as described, or you were charged in error or twice, email us within 14 days and we'll make it right, including a refund where appropriate. You can cancel a subscription at any time; cancellation stops future charges and keeps your access through the end of the period you already paid for. Nothing here limits any refund rights you have under the law where you live.
The service and everything it produces are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Laser cutting involves real materials, machines, and risk: always review generated files, run a test cut, and follow your machine and material safety guidance before committing to a cut. We are not responsible for wasted material, damaged equipment, injury, or other losses arising from use of the service or its output. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim (which may be zero).
We may update these terms as sparq.tools grows. When we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above. Continuing to use the service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Reach out any time at hello@sparq.tools. If you want to do something with your files that isn't clearly covered here, like a licensing arrangement to sell designs, just ask.
