Effective July 20, 2026 · sparq.tools is in beta
This policy explains what sparq.tools ("sparq.tools", "the service", "we", "us"), operated by Jan, collects when you use our browser-based tools for laser cutting, and what we do with it. We keep this short and plain because the honest version is short: we collect as little as we can, and we don't sell your data. Using the service means you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Service.
Most of our tools run entirely in your browser, so the SVG or image you are working on never leaves your computer. Where a tool does send a file to our servers to do heavier processing, that file exists only long enough to do the job and is then discarded. We do not store your designs, we do not keep copies, and we do not use your files to train anything. Traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted in transit.
We use the information above only to:
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it except with the service providers below who help us run sparq.tools.
We rely on a small number of trusted providers, each handling only the data they need:
We use cookies and browser local storage for things that make the service work: keeping you signed in, remembering your preferences, and measuring usage as described above. We do not use cookies to serve ads. You can clear or block them in your browser, though signing in and saved settings may stop working if you do.
Uploaded files are discarded right after processing. Account and purchase records are kept while your account is active and for as long as we need them to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data except for the limited records we are required to retain.
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account and its data at any time. Just email us and we will take care of it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor those requests regardless of where you are.
sparq.tools is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
As sparq.tools grows we may update this policy. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the effective date above. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
