Leave blank to use defaults (Loose +0.10, Snug 0, Tight −0.05). Positive = more gap, negative = press fit. Defaults are tuned for plywood. Acrylic is brittle - set Tight to 0 or slightly positive to avoid cracking. MDF is consistent; defaults usually work. Use the Calibrate button on your material card to measure values for your specific setup.

Cut both pieces from your target material. The slotted piece has 9 slots ranging from tight (left) to loose (right). The peg piece has one tab drawn at your material's nominal thickness. Press the peg into each numbered slot and note which feel is Loose, Snug, and Tight.
Which slot fits how?
Press the peg into each numbered slot. Tap the slot number that gave each feel. Slot 5 is the theoretical snug point for your kerf.
Loose - slides in with a slight gap
Snug - firm hand pressure, solid fit
Tight - press-fit, requires force
